Yexel's Toy Museum - A house full of toys!

Recently I went to this place Yexel's Toy Museum, where all the iconic figures from cartoons up to movie adaptations are found, from The Simpsons, The Incredibles, Super Mario Bros, Transformers and up to The Avengers under one roof.

I discovered this place while watching TV on "Rated K". The museum is owned by Mr. Yexel Sebastian, who is an avid fan of toys and cartoons during his youth, at the age of 9 he started collected numerous toys from Super Mario up to his custom made creations.

After watching the show I checked their Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/yexelstoymusuem ) and found it's location and saw more photos of the toys that can be found inside.

So upon entering this life sized "The Simpsons" is their first attraction and is followed by more iconic cartoons. Have fun looking on the next photos.

I suggest you come and visit the place and see for yourself they're open on weekends with a fee of P300 as long as you want and as many pictures as you can.

YABU: House of Katsu

Finally it's time to try out one of the most popular Japanese restaurants today, YABU: House of Katsu. They cater the tradition Katsudon with a new twist, they cook the best chicken, pork and even seafood.

YABU - SM Southmall Branch

It was my first time to dine at YABU in SM Southmall where we waited for almost 30 mins, to put into a positive note, people dining YABU are happy with their orders and also it's fast customer service.

The Ambiance was great. The servers were very friendly, approachable and hospitable upon our entrance at YABU.

Since it was my first time, the server told me to do the following steps regarding their sauce.

Grind the sesame seeds with a wooden mortar until it becomes a bit "powdery".

Next is to add their Teriyaki Sauce and mix them together. (You can also put a little salt to your mixture)

What I ordered is their Yabu Katsudon Special Set

Chicken Katsudon special set

"Yabu katsu, drizzled with a light and sweet miso-based sauce, accompanied by nori, bonito flakes and a fried egg on top. A hint of shiso, or Japanese basil, is also found in the dish adding an unexpected freshness." (Yabu.ph)

What I liked about this dish is I could choose between normal rice or brown rice and it is UNLIMITED alongside the rice is their UNLIMITED shredded cabbage, fruits and Miso soup.

I also tried is their Chicken Katsudon set, where their chicken is really thick and you could chose from 90 grams up to 180 grams of chicken. The dish is also serve with UNLIMITED normal rice or brown rice, soup, fruits and shredded cabbage just like in all of their dishes.

Chicken Katsudon set

It is somehow the same as the special set but it has no egg, nori and flakes but the chicken is thicker by almost an inch.

Last dish I tasted was their Menchi Katsu, It is composed of premium beef and pork covered in Panko (breadcrumbs) and filled with cream cheese.
Menchi Katsu

The combination of beef and pork plus cream cheese is really perfect all you need is to dip a slice of this to their sauce and you have a masterpiece hehe :)

Though they're a bit pricey at P300+, you can feel the money's worth reflects the quality and quantity of their products plus they serve really fast and UNLIMITED side dishes in it. I say YABU is a must try and I will definitely come back and dine again.

Zark's Burgers

A random night along Taft Ave. where me and my college friends was craving for burgers and out of nowhere we decided to stop at Zark's Burgers. People say that these place offers hardcore burgers in a sense that this is you no ordinary bun-sauce-cheese-beef burger-lettuce-bun combo but something else.

First we looked around what the people were ordering and what is on someone's table, then we started to order ourselves. So we've decided to order 3 burgers, the Luther Burger, the Tombstone Burger and the Bacon Wrapped Burger.

Before reading this blog, make sure you have finished your dinner or you have a strong appetite.

                                                                  The Luther Burger

The Luther burger is composed of double cheeseburger with bacon and sugar glazed doughnut.
Yes you read it right they use donuts on this burger. Complemented with french fries and soda, this one-two punch will satisfy your craving for a burger plus a doughnut. The burger is priced at P230, it is pretty expensive but the taste is really great.

                                                        The Bacon-wrapped Burger

The Bacon-wrapped burger also known as, the high-blood burger, the food coma, burgasm and many more. This burger is a deep-fried burger that is Bacon-wrapped around it. Pretty easy to remember but hard to forget once you have tried this monster. People says make sure you have taken your medications before eating this burger and make sure to take another one after eating. Like the Luther Burger, this is also complemented with french fries and soda, for only P230, you'll be able to experience this nerve-wrecking creation.

If you think the Bacon-wrapped burger isn't enough for you maybe you should try this burger,

                                                               The Tombstone Burger

This massive 2-pound Tombstone burger with cheese and 300g of fries will definitely raise your blood pressure. Zark's Burgers provides challenges an individual to finish this meal (the burger and fries) in 10 minutes and your face will be posted on their wall of fame and a t-shirt and of course bragging rights to tell your friends, otherwise you could just share this burger for P500.

Zark's Burgers surely makes the most sick burgers in the Metro, and also they label their burgers with creativity like, The Stonecold Stunner Burger, The Jawbreaker, The SHAQ and many more.

Feeling Frenchy at Le Petit Chéri

Last March 2013, I was craving for something sweet so I decided to try at Le Petit Chéri in Alabang. Upon entering the place has this "Frenchy" ambiance, from it's tables and chairs, decorations and as well as their music. Next is to try some of their signature sweets.

                                                               Mousse au Chocolat

First I ordered the Mousse au chocolat, which they say is one of their best selling desserts. It is a combination of white and dark chocolate mousse topped with a chocolate ganache, whipped cream and cherry. Although this concoction is worth (P115), but it is worth the price with it's right amount of sweetness and also bitterness from its dark chocolate.

                                                                  French Macaroons

These French Macaroons is a must try when dining at Le Petit Chéri, they have different flavors of these treats, but I only tasted their Strawberry, Mint and Chocolate Macaroons. After I've tasted these treats the owner Ms. Edna suggested that I must try their L'Opera and Mango-coriander vivaneur, but my budget is already off so I just said that I will be back and taste them.

Le Petit Chéri is located in Molito Lifestyle Center, Madrigal Avenue, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City; (0917) 511-0138

The Giant

After having lunch with some office mates we decided to take some photos , and after several tries the outcome was great. The photo was taken by Mr. Rommel Bundalian, owner/photographer of 360 Unlimited Arts & Photography Studio, this is his version of a force perspective shot using a Fujifilm X-series camera (I forgot what is the exact model).
